Muskrat’s callisthenics

These images were taken during the same event as the previously posted muskrat’s kiss.

Midst its feeding, the muskrat climbed out and preened — almost as if it were doing callisthenics.

The first step is to shake off the water.

Then there is the stretching.

A test of the jowls.

Some more stretches and scratches.

All exercise should involve some pain.

And back to tranquility.

    fabulous insights, beautiful photos!

  2. Might the last photo better be landscape to centralize the pagoda? Lovely sequence. This validates my years with downward dog.

    What an interesting study!

It’s a shame that your subjects can’t see your wonderful pictures. Gorgeous study the last one.

Alastair, as far as I have been have been able to determine, the muskrat has rather poor eyesight (accounting for it ignoring the photographers during this event). If I were to show it the pictures, it would probably try to eat them.
