Sphinx of the Fall

There is a time in the Fall when the view of Sphinx (over 2800 m. in the Purcell Mountains) as seen from the West Arm presents an irresistible combination of water, trees, and snow—well worth a fanciful interpretation.

The Kootenay-Lake Website offers a discussion and more pictures of local fall colours.

this image has an incredible motion – the trees, water, and even the mountain keep my eyes traveling around and around. i think i may need a cereal/soup bowl with this inside it.

beautiful work, I was checking out white tail deer as I am on a deer committee in Grand forks. We have a faction that want a death cull and an equal faction who would like to see something quite opposite. I helped tabulate the survey results. After some research I am beginning to see how the white tail here [very tame] are an opportunity to create a very different public/tourism image.

I am a fan of the white-tailed deer as my blog entry, Charge of the White-tailed Deer and my Web page White-tailed Deer might suggest. Certainly they nibble my cedar trees and scrounge my apples, but the compensation is that I get to have deer in my yard.
