Apparently, the bigger (male) marmot\u00a0was <em>it<\/em>, and was attempting to tag the smaller (female)\u00a0marmot.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10156\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/marmottag140401cs.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The two of them coursed back and forth over the rocky field.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10157\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/marmottag140401bs.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They twisted and turned as he attempted to make her <em>it<\/em>.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10158\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/marmottag140401as.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The chase ended behind some rocks that afforded a poor view, but it seems that in the marmot version of the game, tagging involves mounting and thrusting.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10154\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/marmottag140401es.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; What a playful animal is the marmot: Yesterday, I watched two of them playing tag.
