It prefers\u00a0to stay hidden.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10380\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/marshwren140427as.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Twice, I inadvertently flushed Wood Ducks, so\u00a0the best I could manage\u00a0was a picture of them flying\u00a0off.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10384\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/woodduck140425bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Townsend&#8217;s Solitaires were hanging around the campgrounds.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10385\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/townsendssolitaire140428s.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While walking past a pond, I found myself within metres of a female Hooded Merganser that had\u00a0her crest raised.
