The three I saw one morning are the first I have seen in nine\u00a0years. Who knows? This may presage\u00a0a good hare year.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11007\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/hare140630s.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The antlers of yearling buck are little more than spikes, resulting in the inappropriate name, spikehorn, for both these antlers and the animal itself.
