{"id":14065,"date":"2015-06-30T10:10:03","date_gmt":"2015-06-30T17:10:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/?p=14065"},"modified":"2015-07-06T11:41:41","modified_gmt":"2015-07-06T18:41:41","slug":"june-goulash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/?p=14065","title":{"rendered":"June goulash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>June ends with a stew made from images that did not manage to get their own postings.<\/p>\n<p>While walking in Kokanee Creek Park early in the month, I saw a Common Yellowthroat,<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14071\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/commonyellowthroat150610bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and an American Redstart.<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14072\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/redstart150607s.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our local Garter Snakes are comfortable on land and in water.<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14066\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/snake150625s.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I often see hummingbirds battle for access to the feeder, but it is difficult to get a shot of it.<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14070\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/rufoushummingbird150612as.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Somewhat easier (but not much) is a portrait\u00a0of a visiting Rufous Hummingbird.<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14069\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/rufoushummingbird150614s.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The season of damselflies has\u00a0arrived. This is a Northern Spreadwing,<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14073\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/northernspreadwingdamselfly150621s.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and this dragonfly is a male Common Whitetail.<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14074\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/commonwhitetaildragonfly150621s.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A pair of Bald Eagles was hanging out in a tree near their nest.<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14067\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/eagle150624as.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And a female Osprey approached with an offer to share her fish&#8212;or maybe not.<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14068\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/osprey150624as.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; June ends with a stew made from images that did not manage to get their own postings.
