Humour depends upon one’s perspective, so while this grouse may not think itself funny, I do.<\/p>\n

Grouse have\u00a0cryptic plumage, which allows them to blend with the undergrowth. The camouflage extends to moving at a funereal pace. By walking very slowly, feathers can appear\u00a0to\u00a0be little more than\u00a0shifting patches of sunlight on the forest floor.<\/p>\n

This morning’s Ruffed Grouse\u00a0walked past with great\u00a0stealth, apparently confident that doing so made it invisible\u00a0— even\u00a0against\u00a0a field of snow.<\/p>\n
