By the time it was spotted and the camera pointed, usually the bird was\u00a0gone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Then yesterday, four Trumpeter Swans were spotted far along\u00a0the shore. They remained in place as I walked the kilometre and a half. While not completely unconcerned by the passage of humans along the beach, they were certainly nonchalant.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Golden-crowned Kinglet is caught in a rare moment between bursts of speed.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16596\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/goldencrownedkinglet160308as.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is not that it even seemed aware that it was being watched, but that it had to hurry to the next delectable.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16593\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/goldencrownedkinglet160308cs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is instantly off again.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16594\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/goldencrownedkinglet160308bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Contrasting the frenetic kinglets are the languid swans, which hardly moved for an hour.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16595\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/trumpeterswan160309s2.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"360\" \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Two\u00a0days ago in the Park, I watched one of the most frenetic of birds: a Golden-crowned Kinglet.
