However, ours\u00a0have been out and about\u00a0for the better part of a week. Their antics are fun to watch.<\/p>\n<p>Another oddity is that pups are said to nurse in the den, but\u00a0switch to\u00a0foraging on their own when they are out of the den. Again, it seems that these marmot\u00a0pups have not read the manual. This is the first time I have seen this.<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-17138\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/marmot160520as.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pups often meet during their foraging. When they do, they greet each other.<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-17137\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/marmot160520ds.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then, sometimes the pups will frolic.<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-17137\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/marmot160520bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, the standard greeting seemed to be a nose rub.
