The timing is off by about a half year. Now is when toms display; this is the breeding season.<\/p>\n<p>The distinctively spread tail feathers of the Wild Turkey signalled a good reason to pause and watch.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-17248\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/wildturkey160521bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This turkey then obligingly turned sideways. Its\u00a0head and neck is\u00a0coloured brilliantly with red, blue and white. The colour can change with the turkey&#8217;s mood, with a solid white head and neck representing\u00a0the most excited state.
