On that occasion the chicks feasted on both bugs and a decapitated bird. This time, it was bugs and a mouse. I will try to visit the latest nest again before the chick fledges.<\/p>\n<p>The kestrel mother passes a green bug to her chick.\u00a0<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-17879\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/kestrel160707as.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Parents share in the feeding.
