{"id":18267,"date":"2016-08-16T08:17:40","date_gmt":"2016-08-16T15:17:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/?p=18267"},"modified":"2016-08-24T08:19:24","modified_gmt":"2016-08-24T15:19:24","slug":"osprey-diversion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/?p=18267","title":{"rendered":"Osprey diversion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Osprey chicks are still in the nest but are now as large as adults and easy to see.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, I had expected to go on a nest-monitoring tour to estimate this year&#8217;s chick production. Alas, the tour was rescheduled, so, I headed out on my own &#8212; not to count chicks, merely to enjoy the birds.<\/p>\n<p>Here are two shots from that jaunt.<\/p>\n<p>A female Osprey comes in for a landing. She is banded. I have seen her a number of times before.<br \/>\n <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18268\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/osprey160815cs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A Osprey family sits on what is a new nest this season. There are three chicks (the ones with speckled wings and orange eyes) and one female adult (second from the left with yellow eyes).
