Less commonly seen is a complete 22-degree halo around the Moon at night. The reason is simple, it takes nearly a full moon to provide enough light.<\/p>\n<p>The Kootenay-Lake\u00a0Website offers a discussion and more pictures of the local <a href=\"http:\/\/kootenay-lake.ca\/lightplay\/haloes\/index.html\">haloes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A full moon and a thin veil of cirrus provides the ingredients for a complete 22-degree halo over the Lake.
