They built nests, mated, laid eggs, brooded chicks, and their chicks fledged. Now, mid-September, all are getting ready to migrate to Central America and points south. Preparation for this long flight requires building fat reserves.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, a number of times each day, ospreys bring a fresh fish to a perch and feast.<\/p>\n<p>An adult osprey arrives with a sucker (and a bit of salad).<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-24643\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/osprey180916as.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It lands on a piling.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-24644\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/osprey180916bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In an act repeated around the Lake, the osprey feasts.
