Alas, none of the species are found around the Lake.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What we do have is a spoonbill in morphology, if not in name: the Northern Shoveler.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yet, I have just photographed another one: the exceedingly rare Spoonbill Crow.<\/p>\n<p>A flock of Northern Shovelers display their spoon-shaped bills.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-20342\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/shoveler170430as.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today, the exceedingly rare Spoonbill Crow flew past me.
