However, it is not particularly common, so I was unfamiliar with last bird seen.<\/p>\n<p>The first shrike, seen in the morning, was perched on a power wire.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-27774\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/shrike191121as.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The second shrike, seen at noon, was in a tree.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-27775\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/shrike191121bs2.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"719\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, in mid-afternoon, a brownish bird was spotted. It had the strike&#8217;s hooked bill, but it lacked a prominent black mask.
