While they do roost in trees overnight, and some subscribers commented that they see them there regularly, I had only seen these birds when they were foraging on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>However, this last weekend I happened upon many turkeys flying in and out of trees.<\/p>\n<p>Three are seen here.\u00a0<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-27861\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/wildturkey191214bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One turkey was off on its own. <br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-27860\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/wildturkey191214cs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It had spectacularly spread its wings and tail while flying in. <br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-27862\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/wildturkey191214as.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; The first time I saw a Wild Turkey in a tree was only a month ago.
