This is it.<\/p>\n<p>Painted Turtles are a staple of the pond in the summer. Some of these have peeling scutes. The dragonfly (a darner) that is approaching\u00a0managed to pass the turtles without being eaten.<br \/>\n<span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2802\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/turtles110902s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>There was also a Green Comma,<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2790\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/greencomma110902s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"719\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and a Grey Catbird,<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2791\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/greycatbird110831s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"719\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>but the stars of late summer are the dragonflies.
