I didn&#8217;t see any a few weeks ago, but yesterday I saw over a dozen of them on the talus.<\/p>\n<p>The first one spotted lounging on a rock was fairly small, and so was likely a female. Female marmots average about two-thirds the weight of males.\u00a0<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-28362\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/yellowbelliedmarmot200319cs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is a marmot&#8217;s time to mate.
