At first, I thought maybe they were just frolicking. Apparently not.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-30153\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/whitetaileddeer210310bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Possibly they were harassing the mallards. No, the ducks were of scant interest.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-30151\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/whitetaileddeer210310ds.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The leaps carried on. When I looked at the pictures, I realized they were reacting to sinking into the mud revealed at low water.
