While not exclusively birds, there is certainly a preponderance of them.<\/p>\n<p>Two Bald Eagle chicks still in the nest are scrapping over a bit of food. <br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-30789\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/eagle210614bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>No summer month would be complete without a shot of a hunting osprey. It uses its extended tongue to sniff its surroundings. It looks as if it has just discarded its old skin everywhere except on its head. It has a spotted breast and wings flecked with white.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-30784\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/robin210622s.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This year has brought us many Brewer&#8217;s Blackbirds. The male has yellow eyes and a glossy (almost liquid) black and midnight blue plumage.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-30785\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/brewersblackbird210624s.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Often shots of hummingbirds show the more spectacular male.
