I tried to capture a flight shot, but only succeeded in capturing two in a tree.<\/p>\n<p>The Bohemian Waxwings is perhaps the ultimate example of an irruptive bird. It lives in the north, but in some years, it travels in large numbers to the south in search of food.\u00a0 This is such such a winter.<\/p>\n<p>Two Bohemian Waxwings, out of a large flock, rest in a tree.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31439\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/bohemianwaxwing211214s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This detail of one of the waxwings shows the red, waxy tips on some of their wing feathers.
