It has travelled here from central South America to breed. Seen yesterday morning was a male, but I haven&#8217;t yet seen the female.<\/p>\n<p>The male Bobolink was singing as it perched on a bush in the grasslands of Kokanee Park. <br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-34586\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/bobolink250608as2.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It flew off, but only to a nearby bush.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-34587\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/bobolink250608bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It turned out that there were two birds close to one another and I sometimes followed the wrong one. The other was an Eastern Kingbird.
