{"id":5198,"date":"2012-05-15T16:09:03","date_gmt":"2012-05-15T23:09:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/?p=5198"},"modified":"2012-05-15T18:48:25","modified_gmt":"2012-05-16T01:48:25","slug":"5-birds-plus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/?p=5198","title":{"rendered":"5 birds plus&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is a mid-May catchup of non-arthropods.<\/p>\n<p>The sub-adult loon that was <a title=\"Lonesome loon\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/?p=5160\">featured earlier<\/a> was back again and this time it caught a fish.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5201\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/loonfish120513s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While I was watching the loon, a Spotted Sandpiper came prowling.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5199\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/spottedsandpiper120513a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A visit to Kokanee Creek Park produced pictures of three birds. First a goose flew by.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5202\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/goose120514s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then a Western Meadow Lark sang.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5204\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/westernmeadowlark120514s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And a female Brown-headed Cowbird landing in a nearby tree.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5200\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/cowbirdF120514s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Finally, the non bird was a Columbian Ground Squirrel that parked itself in the middle of my pathway.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5203\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/columbiangroundsquirrel120514s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; This is a mid-May catchup of non-arthropods.
