Whether these flowers are some of the various local wild species or are domestic\u00a0escapees is unclear, but they have been there on their own for about a half century. Whatever they were in the past, they are now wild.<\/p>\n<p>First are three pictures of some flowers themselves, then three pictures of their visitors.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5453\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/lupines120603as.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5452\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/lupines120603bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5451\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/lupines120603cs.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the leaves there were a number of jumping spiders. This one had captured a fly.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5448\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/jumpingspider120603s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A golden dung fly was on the grass below the flowers.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5447\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/goldendungfly120603s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Many pollinators were visiting the flowers, but the prize sighting was of the (nearly\u00a0extirpated) Western Bumble Bee&#8212;undoubtedly a queen.
