Photosynthesis involves the exchange of gases with the surroundings. Occasionally such a gas release underwater becomes obvious.<\/p>\n<p>On a hike into Kokanee Glacier Park, my daughter, Cynthia, took this sequence of increasingly close pictures at a alpine pond.
