Now and then, something different turns up, such as this Bonaparte&#8217;s Gull.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8114\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/bonapartesgull130606bs.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is not that the House Finch is uncommon, but I rarely see one along the lakeshore.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8120\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"finch130610s\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/finch130610s.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are many opportunities to take pictures of ospreys in the summer, but I rather liked this portrait of one hunting from a pine tree.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8119\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/osprey130525s.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Song Sparrow is so common that I rarely take its picture. However, this one looked positively reflective.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8117\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/songsparrow130614s.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now that there are ospreys about, herons are somewhat harder to find. This one was hunting in a marsh.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8115\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/heron130616s.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Spotted Sandpiper is a daily visitor.
