Possibly, but I think that most of the problem comes from the bird&#8217;s fishing strategy. If nothing edible is immediately apparent from one perch, another is quickly sought. Almost as soon as the kingfisher is spotted, it is\u00a0gone.<\/p>\n<p>(It is much easier to photograph a heron, for its typical fishing strategy is to linger and let fish come to it.)<\/p>\n<p>A juvenile kingfisher was spotted&#8230;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-8653\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/kingfisher130826s.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>but was soon off.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-8655\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/kingfisher130828s.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; I find it is difficult to photograph a kingfisher.
