{"id":9962,"date":"2014-03-06T16:32:53","date_gmt":"2014-03-07T00:32:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/?p=9962"},"modified":"2014-03-07T15:33:58","modified_gmt":"2014-03-07T23:33:58","slug":"goose-raspberry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/?p=9962","title":{"rendered":"Goose raspberry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Maybe it was the warmer weather; maybe it was the switch from snow to rain; maybe it was the longer daylight; but, the testosterone in local ganders was clearly soaring.<\/p>\n<p>Spring is the only time of the year when ganders play king of the castle by landing on top of pilings, there to vociferously and combatively proclaim virility.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While a female watched from the water below, a male loudly proclaimed his mating rights.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9965\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/goose140306as.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, by not watching his back, he was quickly dislodge by a rival.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9964\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/goose140306bs.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The new suitor then offered the first gander what can only be described as a raspberry.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9963\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/goose140306cs.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He then flew down to the Lake and went off with the (clearly impressed) female.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9966\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/goose140306ds.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Maybe it was the warmer weather; maybe it was the switch from snow to rain; maybe it was the longer daylight; but, the testosterone in local ganders was clearly soaring.
