This is the mother and a fawn who always stuck close by her. They kept an eye on me but did not seem concerned.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9997\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/whitetaileddeer140309as.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The second fawn couldn&#8217;t care less about my watching and set about doing a bit of washing up.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9996\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/whitetaileddeer140309bs.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then an eagle came by and set to preening.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9995\" onclick=\"return false\" onmousedown=\"return false\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kootenay-lake.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/eagle140309bs.jpg\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At one point it stared at me and blinked (its nictitating membranes).
