This blog does not usually concern itself with domestic animals, but this seemed special: a stuck cat. It was beside the highway and high on some utility cables about a third of the way between the poles. Presumably it had been chased up a pole.
The cat has now been there for over three hours, during which time, it has moved no more than a couple of centimetres. Below it, the berm to the road is quite narrow, so the cat will be difficult to rescue. Indeed, someone watching the cat got stuck, and now that person needs to be rescued. Then, that person’s rescuer got stuck. The cat continued to sit on the cables watching the cascade of getting stuck.
The story is ongoing.
did it ever make it down?
Mary, the cat has now been stuck for at least four hours. Now BCAA is involved in the person rescue, but has to wait for flaggers to arrive. Meanwhile the stuck cat is being entertained by it all.
Now you got me stuck – hanging on for the rest of the story
It sounds a twist on the Corb Lund song–“The Truck got Stuck”!! Hope everything turns out ok!
Helen, that song fits beautifully — I just watched it on youtube. Mind you, all those vehicles eventually got out. I suspect that the cat may remain stuck.
All vehicles have now been extricated. But, the cat (now at over 5½ hours) remains stuck.
I don’t think anyone has ever seen a cat skeleton in a tree …or on an utility wire!!! I think he may find his way down once he is alone!!!
Just drove by Mon Feb 17 10:00 am. Still there.
At 3:10 pm today. The cat is still on the wire. It has now been there for 29 hours since I first saw it, but it had probably already been up there for 4 or 5 hours before that. So, the cat has been without food and water for about a day and a half.
Tuesday morning: the cat is now gone.
Just found this and glad to read that all is well. He seemed a fine healthy rather amused looking cat. Thanks for sharing
