The Painted Turtle is our only indigenous turtle. I keep seeing it and taking its picture—I then ignore the images, and post about something else.
To make amends, here are three recent pictures of Painted Turtles taken from different places around the region.
I love the one of the swimming turtle especially, though all are good, because it shows it’s toes and back foot in swimming mode. Thanks Alistair!
Lorna, actually the swimming turtle is also my favorite.
Looks like at least 4 generations of turtles up on that first log. Healthy situation 🙂
Bill, by coincidence it seems that yesterday was something called World Turtle Day. So, even turtles have their 15 minutes—er, 24 hours—of fame.
