A wildfire has flared up in the mountains about seven kilometres from my home. I must say that when I assess the appeal of my new view, I have to describe it as not desirable.

The view looking up the lake from Nelson is not as well (Arlene Anderson’s picture).
It looked somewhat frightening this evening from the Duhamel area. We could see flames above the ridge from my son’s place.
watch for increased wildlife near lakeshore as all those non-human creatures living in the fire zone begin their own evacuations.
