Guest posting Finn is my seven-year-old grandson. I played consultant, but Finn took and edited his own pictures using his own equipment. I helped post them.

While visiting at Kootenay Lake, I get to wander around with Granddad as he looks at nature.
These are some things that I have seen.
These are some mallards on the dock preening.
This a mallard mama duck with her 7 chicks.
How many mallard chicks are there?
Now I know why the spotted sandpiper is called what it’s called.
These are some geese in the fog.
This fog tower is the water part of the water birds.
Well done Finn!
Superb series of photos Finn! I especially enjoyed the fog tower.
These are great photos, Finn! You have a great eye and some wonderful opportunities for exploring nature on Kootenay Lake!
I agree with the comments – good job. Isee the makings of a future blogger and photographer.
Awesome Finn. I especially like the one of the mama mallard & her brood.
Super Finn way t’go. Great shots. I really like the fog and all the little chicks. I count 5 chicks ~~~ oops wait there’s another little guy 6 chicks total.
Cheers Paul
How wonderful Finn! I liked the Fog Tower picture too. We have been enjoying the Sandpipers and their little ones on the East Shore of Kootenay Lake as well. Great shots!
Super photos Finn, and great fun exploring and discovering life on the lake with your Grandad.
I really like the sandpiper and how you captured it’s reflection.
Hello Finn,
Excellent photos; I really liked the ducks preening. In fact, they remind me of a very well dressed fellow I work with…
Summer is the best – have fun!
Hi Finn, you are going to be a fine photographer and a great naturalist. You are very lucky to have a Granddad like this – he can teach you many wonderful things.
I like your tricky picture – it looks like there are 6 chicks but maybe there is the seventh one in the grasses (?)
Why don’t you let us know how many there really are?
Congratulations on this nice blog!
Finn,Great photos.I am impressed. You can come over to my place and take photos of my fans and we can also order pizza.
