Paid: six peanuts

For some time, I have had a resident squirrel—probably not always the same animal.

We have a social contract: clicks for comestibles. Today’s picture cost me six peanuts.

What value does 6 peanuts have? Any number of peanuts seems like a small cost for this photo of your furry friend. Wonderful shot.

The squirrel(s) have you figured out! My friend has resident Blue Jays who will ‘pose for peanuts’.
It seems my neighbourhood squirrels purposely torment the dogs; for sport! I have watched them come down the tree trunk and chatter away until the dogs give chase. Then they dart to an overhanging branch and continue their lecture from safety. I know we’re not supposed to assume wild creatures have human traits, but I swear some animals really look like they are just playing.
It looks like a beautiful spring day on the West Arm. Happy Easter Alistair, your posts are always a delight.
