Gull eating

Birds have different ways of eating a fish.  Raptors have it easiest with their hooked bill and claws. Some birds, like a heron, must swallow the fish whole, while others, like this gull can pick pieces off of it.

The fish was in the shallows on the edge of the Lake. The gull would drag it to the surface, and have a nibble or two before it sank again. It could have brought the fish right to the shore, but it never did.

A California Gull considers the head of a fish.

But, it really spent most of its time on the meaty parts.
