Heron and Kokanee

I went looking for bears catching fish, but saw none. Just as I was about to leave, a Great Blue Heron was seen hunting in the stream. It was very slowly moving along the channel while intently watching the water. With a sudden grab, it bent to catch a rather large Kokanee salmon and then lifted it from the water. It then carried its catch into the woods. This Kokanee was, if anything, a bit larger than the fish that was seen with the earlier heron picture (blog.kootenay-lake.ca/?p=35850).
